First Home Buyers and The Great Australian Dream

In a recent 9 news survey it has been suggested that with an uncertain election and rising interest rates it’s becoming more and more difficult for young adults to accomplish the “great Australian dream” of home ownership.

Add to that the rising cost of living, electricity, and petrol, home ownership is becoming more difficult.

While Lansell Homes predominantly build new homes that suit the downsizer market a good proportion of our house and land packages are purchased by first home buyers and young couples.

This month alone, we have had the pleasure of handing over two new homes to young single first home buyers.

Both young men took advantage of the first homeowner grant and the home builder scheme offered last year. Coupled with the bonus of not having to pay stamp duty, there really was no better time to build.

Tom was living at home with his family and securing a rental was proving to be difficult. His grandfather came across a Lansell Home right near Toms work. They ran the numbers and decided building a new home was the way to go.

With family members having built homes with us in the past, he was quite confident in his decision.

The hardest obstacle I faced was dealing with the bank and jumping through hoops to secure the home loan and the best part of the building experience with Lansell Homes was the fact they do it all. I didn’t have to make any hard decisions.

As young men, both took full advantage of our interior designers during their colour consults, with helpful input from their family.

Both homes while having a vastly different layout, have a masculine vibe with darker colour schemes and/or accents throughout.
