One of the more interesting sights on a construction site is seeing plasterers moving around on stilts.
It’s something that often catches attention during walkthroughs and progress inspections, especially for clients visiting their homes during the internal stages of construction. While it might look slightly intimidating at first glance, plastering stilts are a common tool used by experienced trades to safely and efficiently work on higher walls and ceilings.
At Huntly Estate, our plastering teams have recently been hard at work completing internal linings in one of the homes nearing completion. Using stilts allows plasterers to move more freely throughout the home without constantly repositioning ladders, helping achieve smoother finishes while improving efficiency during installation and stopping stages.
The internal plastering stage is a major milestone in the building process. Once plaster is installed, rooms begin to feel more defined and homeowners can start visualising the final look and layout of their home.
Construction involves many specialised skills that most people never see up close, which is why behind the scenes moments like these are always interesting to share. From roofing and framing through to plastering, flooring, cabinetry, and final finishes, every stage plays an important role in bringing a new home together.
As progress continues across Huntly, we’ll keep sharing more of the people, trades, and processes involved in building homes throughout the estate.
