Material supply issues impacting your build
The unprecedented demand for new builds, on top of ongoing COVID-related delays, has led to Australia-wide building material supply issues. The massive response to the HomeBuilder grant has only added stress to an already pressured situation.
The HIA’s current forecast suggests a whopping 130,000 new homes will be built across the country this year.
Right now, in particular, there is a significant strain on the availability of waffle pods for slabs, aluminium, bricks, and timber.
“We are asking for patience and understanding during these strange times. Despite this frustrating situation, we are working to the best of our ability to complete your new home build within a reasonable time, all things considered,” assures John Lucas, Lansell Construction Supervisor.
Last month, the federal government extended the HomeBuilder grant construction start timeframe from 6 months to 18 months for all existing applicants. Thanks to this move, thousands of HomeBuilder applicants around the country can now breathe a sigh of relief!
“This extension is excellent news,” says Joanne Grae, Sales Manager for Lansell Homes. “It allows us to work around supply issues without impacting our client’s HomeBuilder applications.”
